Quaneisha D. Smith is the founder and executive director of For Girls Like Quaneisha Mentoring Program. She is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University where she earned: Bachelors degrees in Elementary Education and African American Studies, Masters of Education-Literacy, and Masters of Education Learning Design and Technology.

Quaneisha has been a public school teacher for 22 years.  She has a passion for teaching literacy and closing the achievement gap.  Quaneisha is the owner and founder of Elite Virtual Tutoring Services, LLC.

Quaneisha was raised by her grandparents and was the beneficiary of the work of mentors, Girl Scout Leaders, tutors, and community leaders. ​The Lord gave her the vision of giving back to her community by sowing into young girls what was sewn into her. This is why the For Girls Like Quaneisha Mentoring Program was birthed.

Quaneisha is married to her college sweetheart Jasper and they have two wonderful sons Joshua and Jonathan. In her spare time she loves to read books, watch movies, travel and shop.

Our Intern Social Worker

Yazmyne is a passionate and dedicated graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, currently pursuing her MSW degree. With over 11 years of experience working closely with communities and families, Yazmyne has developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by underserved populations. Her extensive background in both criminal justice and social work has equipped her with the knowledge and skills needed to make a real impact in the lives of others. Hailing from Winston-Salem, NC, Yazmyne has always been driven by a belief that every young child deserves a fighting chance and the opportunity for their voice to be heard. Her commitment to empowering individuals and creating positive change is at the heart of her work.

In addition to her professional expertise, Yazmyne has a genuine love for music and the arts, which she sees as vital tools for self-expression, healing, and personal growth. Throughout her career, she has remained focused on mentoring and supporting underserved communities, knowing that when given the right resources and encouragement, young people can overcome obstacles and thrive. Yazmyne’s compassionate approach to mentoring is rooted in her belief that every person has the potential to succeed, and she is excited to bring her experience, skills, and enthusiasm to the mentoring company, where she can continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

Congratulations to Destiny, our April mentee of the month!

Big shoutout to Destiny, our Mentee of the Month! This 11-year-old trumpet player faced down tough times after moving, dealing with bullies and a dip in grades. But guess what? She found her power with the For Girls Like Quaneisha program! Now she's handling things like a champ, making friends, and rocking those grades. Destiny, you're awesome! Keep shining!
