Join our community of dedicated volunteers and help empower young girls to reach their full potential.
Dear Friends and Community Members,
We warmly invite you to join For Girls Like Quaneisha Mentoring Program as a volunteer and become a vital part of empowering young girls aged 8 to 14 in Fuquay-Varina and surrounding areas. Our program is dedicated to supporting girls facing social, emotional, academic, and behavioral challenges by providing mentorship, academic help, leadership development, and creative outlets.
Mentors
Positive role models who can guide, encourage, and inspire girls to embrace their authentic selves and make positive life choices. Mentors support girls through academic, social, and emotional challenges.
Event Support
Volunteers who can help with organizing events, fundraising, communications, and general program operations. Additionally, volunteers who can help us keep the kids organized and focused during our group meetings.
Academic Support
Individuals who can assist with tutoring and homework help, helping girls improve their academic performance and build confidence.
Administrative Support
Organized individuals who can assist with scheduling, data entry, communications, volunteer coordination, and event logistics to keep the program running smoothly. We also need fundraising heroes and public relationship figures.
Leadership Development
Volunteers who can run workshops or activities focused on leadership skills, self-esteem, and personal growth.
Talent and Dedication
Anyone passionate about empowering young girls, especially those with experience or interest in mentoring, education, youth development, administration, or the arts. Diversity of background and skills is highly valued.
Volunteer Onboarding Process
At For Girls Like Quaneisha Mentoring Program, we believe that committed, caring mentors are the heart of our work. To ensure each volunteer is prepared and aligned with our mission, we follow a structured onboarding process:
Express Interest: Potential mentors begin by showing interest in volunteering through our website, events, or community outreach. We welcome individuals who are passionate about empowering girls and making a lasting impact.
Complete Volunteer Application: Interested individuals are asked to complete a detailed application, which helps us learn more about their background, experiences, and alignment with our program’s values.
Interview: Selected applicants are invited to participate in a one-on-one interview with our team. This step allows us to discuss expectations, answer questions, and ensure the candidate is a good fit for our mentoring model and the girls we serve.
Review Policies & Procedures Once approved, mentors are provided with a Mentor Handbook and undergo a thorough orientation covering our policies, procedures, and best practices. This includes guidance on mentoring responsibilities, communication expectations, child safety protocols, and our commitment to fostering sisterhood and growth. By the end of the onboarding process, our mentors are fully equipped and ready to begin building meaningful, supportive relationships with our girls.
We’re grateful for every volunteer who wants to work with children. To ensure a safe and positive environment, we have standard procedures-like community leadership status and training-that apply to everyone. This helps us protect children and support volunteers in their important roles.
